Home Furnishing App - Scrapbook Function

Hey there, I'm excited to share my latest prototype for a home furnishing app. I've added a new function called "Scrapbook" that lets you save your favorite items to a DIY board and customize them to your liking. It's the perfect way to personalize the look of your furniture, experiment with different designs, and share them with your friends and family. Check it out, and let me know what you think!

I utilized images from the actual app to demonstrate my ability to create a realistic prototype and enhance its visual appeal. Please note that these images were not intended for commercial use.

Project Overview

The Product:

Add a scrapbook function directly from users’ wishlist. To allow user have some more interaction with the products they have saved on the list.

Duration:

About 2 weeks.

The Problem:

The current app has a function called ”wishlist” which allows user to save the interested products on the list. User can also create different board for the saved items. But there is only a list of things, no visual effect to let user be creative and customize the items based on their own choices.

The Goal :
 My Role :
Responsibilities :

To add a scrapbook-alike function in the Wishlist, so the users can interact with the items they saved, move the items around and see the effect like a magazine. Hopefully with this function, along the process of user brainstorming, they have great experiences and more understanding to the products, and create a even better style for themselves using our app with our products.

Understanding The User

User Research Summary:

As a customer of this furniture brand myself, I've noticed a lack of creativity in the app that doesn't align

with the company's image. After gathering feedback from others, I discovered that the ability to interact more with the app was a common issue. That's why I created the Scrapbook function in my prototype, allowing customers to personalize their saved items and see their potential. This function was brought up because it's important for customers to see the items in a more personal and relatable way, like seeing real customer pictures when shopping for clothes.

Persona # 1:

Problem Statement:

Despite being a successful influencer with a passion for interior design, Louisa struggles to customize our app's sample rooms to fit her vision, and requires a simpler function to assist her in realizing her creative ideas more efficiently.

Accessibility Considerations:

1.

To enhance user engagement and brand interaction, we plan to incorporate more customization and photo editing tools into our app, allowing users to share their creations on social media. This will help us collect more data from different platforms and better understand our audience.

2.

We aim to provide our users with a better experience by offering high-quality pictures of our furniture and decor products

Going Forward

Take Aways:
Impact:

Our users have found the app enjoyable and appreciate the inclusion of this function. It adds an element of fun to the experience, allowing them to play around with different designs and imagine their ideal living spaces.

What I learned:

It's only the beginning, and I always listen to the user and see what can be improved. One small change at a time can make not only my day but also the user's day.

Next Steps:

1.

Make responsive versions on tablets and desktops.

2.

Find more interesting editing function for the app, like templates, or stickers , etc.

3.

Continue interviewing and testing the function with users.
